Welcome to the Agriculture Education department!

Hello! My name is Meghan Christensen and I am the Agriculture Education teacher at Missouri Valley High School. I grew up right over the river in Blair, NE. My college journey began at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis, NE. I studied Animal Science briefly while competing on their Livestock Judging Team. Then I realized my real passion was within the classroom. I changed majors to Agriculture Education and transferred to University of Nebraska-Lincoln where I received my bachelors degree in December of 2020. I began my teaching career right here in MV in January of 2021.
I am so excited to get back in the classroom and kick off a new school year!
Agricultural education prepares students for successful careers and a lifetime of informed choices in the global agriculture, food, fiber and natural resources systems.

Through agricultural education, students are provided opportunities for leadership development, personal growth and career success. Agricultural education instruction is delivered through three major components:

  • Classroom/Laboratory instruction (contextual learning).
  • Student leadership organizations (National FFA Organization, National Young Farmer Educational Association and National Post-secondary Agricultural Student Organization).
  • Supervised Agricultural Experience programs (work-based learning).
